Dr John McCarthy, is a Chartered Cyber Security Professional, founder and CEO of Oxford Systems, and a recognised authority in enterprise cybersecurity, aviation security, and critical national infrastructure resilience.
With more than two decades of leadership in cyber advisory, assurance, and executive education, he brings a rare combination of practitioner credibility, academic depth, and international perspective to senior-level masterclass delivery.
Dr McCarthy has advised organisations across complex and highly regulated environments on cyber strategy, governance, resilience, compliance, audit, incident response, and security transformation. His work spans board-level engagement, operational cyber assurance, security roadmaps, cloud migration, risk management, and the protection of critical systems, including airport and operational technology environments. He is also a UK CAA ASSURE Auditor, an NCSC-accredited trainer and course author, and an NCSC Accredited Cyber Resilience Auditor.
Alongside his consulting and leadership roles, Dr McCarthy has an extensive academic and professional education background, with more than 25 years of experience delivering postgraduate teaching, executive programmes, specialist workshops, and international conference presentations. His research and published work include airport cybersecurity, SCADA and operational technology security, cyber resilience, digital investigation, and emerging technology strategy.
